International Students
International students play a very important role in the life of Hellenic American University. They are integral to our mission to be a global university, to foster intercultural communication, an international perspective, and a respect for difference. We know that you have as much to teach us as we have to teach you, and we hope you will decide to make our campus your home – be it for a semester, a year, or a full four years.
Athens is an ideal place for foreign study. Located at the crossroads of East and West, it affords a rich cultural experience in the very birthplace of learning, of thought, and of Western civilization, as well as an opportunity to pursue your academic aspirations at an American institution of the highest quality. Both inside and outside the classroom, you will be challenged to open up to new ideas and new experience. You will be part of a dynamic community of students and faculty from around the globe, and you will learn in unexpected and often surprising ways about the past, about the present, and – perhaps most importantly – about yourself.
Hellenic American University is located in downtown Athens, in the lively, upscale district of Kolonaki, close to museums, cafes, government buildings, and historical sites. Our urban location makes it easy to take advantage of concerts, lectures, theatre, art exhibits, and sports events, as well as the city’s unparalleled nightlife. Not least of all, you will have easy access to the extraordinary physical beauty of the islands and the rest of Greece’s mainland.
Athens inspires the imagination as no other city in the world. It is steeped in history and tradition, but teeming with 21st century life. It is a feast for the senses and for the mind. We know you will like it here.
You can join us in any one of three ways:
- As a regular Hellenic American University student
- As a study abroad student from another University (for a semester or a full year)
- As part of a faculty-led group from an affiliated institution
