Academic and Consulting Services

Through onsite and online tutors and services, the Writing Center provides students with:

  • Guidance on a variety of writing tasks, including:
    • academic essays
    • research projects
    • professional documents such as reports, executive summaries, case studies, and business correspondence, (e.g. cover letters, memos, and minutes)
    • assistance with grammar, spelling, vocabulary, terminology and language usage
  • Instruction on conducting research using library and web resources.
  • Guidance on evaluating sources, integrating secondary material into a text and writing annotated bibliographies.
  • Step-by-step assistance with Capstone Projects.
  • Help with CV's, resumes, cover letters, and personal statements.

*Please note that Writing Center tutors consult with students on their writing, giving feedback, guidance, and instruction. Tutors do not edit or correct papers for students, as doing so would not help students improve their writing.

The Writing Center regularly offers writing workshops for students. Also available are on-demand workshops for individual classes or for larger groups within a given discipline.

Service to the General Public

The Writing Center of the Hellenic American University is also open to the public. Using software and innovative equipment, the Writing Center offers its services online and onsite to anyone who seeks help with writing problems. Assistance is provided in both English and Greek.

Apart from offering individualized assistance, the Writing Center organizes seminars on a range of general and specialized topics.
