Competency-Based Approach

The Professional MBA program gives emphasis to the development of key managerial competencies, which address different and often competing roles in middle management positions. The competency-based approach integrates functional knowledge and managerial skills, which enable managers to effectively perform as leaders. These competencies are also essential for the success of young innovative entrepreneurs, who have already acquired substantial business experience, to start up and develop their own business. 

The competencies are developed through out the program across the curriculum, along with the knowledge content of the different courses. The competencies addressed by the Professional MBA program are derived from the Competing Values Framework (CVF) model, proposed by R. E. Quinn1 and reflect the competing challenges that managers face. In particular, the specific competencies embedded in each leadership role are:
