Student Support Services

Because the Hellenic American University’s admissions requirements are stringent, the coursework rigorous, and the expectations of its graduates high, the Hellenic American University is pleased to provide substantial scholarship assistance to its students. Strong on-going support from the Hellenic American Union makes possible significant student subsidies, which allow the University to offer its programs at a highly attractive cost. In addition to its academic backbone of eminent faculty, industry professionals, and internationally-known guest lecturers, a wide range of services and benefits is also available to students.

Orientation

Orientation provides an opportunity for new students to get acquainted with the University community. They meet faculty and fellow students, visit the facilities, receive useful information on their course of study and University services and activities, as well as participate in team-building exercises that help them establish relationships with other students. During orientation, students also receive basic training on technology resources available including library access.

 

Library

The Hellenic American University Library offers resources and research tools in many fields of study. New technology infrastructure and software have been installed to better serve students, researchers, visitors, and the general public.

Writing Center

The Writing Center at the Hellenic American University is an innovative educational and vocational service whose combination of cutting-edge technology and design, with experienced personalized tutoring make it unique in Greece and one of the few such services in the world.

MBA students can work with the Writing Center’s tutors both on-site and online and receive free assistance and guidance on any type of writing problem.

Academic Advising for Students

Academic advising and mentoring is an integral part of the Hellenic American University’s programs. It guides students toward the timely completion of their studies as well as toward the identification and fulfillment of their academic goals. Each student is assigned a faculty member who serves as mentor for the duration of his or her studies. Academic advising is particularly important when a student enters the program, if and when he or she experiences academic difficulty, and during work on the Capstone Project or other field-based project.

Financial Aid & Financial Planning                                          

The Hellenic American University can help students apply for relevant student loans or financial aid. Students showing exceptional promise may also be considered for part or full-time scholarships.

Health Services

First aid services are available in the University facilities. A hospital providing a full range of health services is located within walking distance.

No health records or non-academic counseling records are maintained by the University as these services are readily available nearby by private providers. Academic and career counseling records shall be maintained by the student services support system in the Career Office and/or through the Office of Student Affairs.

 

Career Assistance & Development  

The Career Development Program of the Hellenic American University supports a student’s career development through seminars, workshops, and field experience offered to students and alumni. Services include guidance on résumé development, interview counseling; maintenance of job listings; a career library, and assistance in securing job interviews.

In conjunction with alumni services provided,alumni employment records are maintained for statistical purposes, alumni networking and possible job reference and placement.

State-of-the-Art Facilities and Technological Infrastructure

Cafe

The University’s campus, located in downtown Athens, consists of six buildings, all within walking distance from one another other. The facilities include modern classrooms, auditoriums and conference rooms, computer labs, galleries, and dining rooms.

Conference

The Hellenic American University has one of the most advanced information technology infrastructure of any educational institution in Athens. IT resources include high-speed Internet access, e-mail, on-line course materials, wireless networking anywhere on campus, and high-end computer labs, with over 200 workstations available for students.
